Let’s be Eco-Logical! Workshops

Through dialogue, meditation, writing, and various eco-dyeing methods and techniques come create your own individual Prayers (wishes and hopes) for a healthy and balanced ecology. Resident Artist Anita will be holding socially engaged workshop around skill-based creative processes, with sustainable and eco-friendly techniques and materials.

Inspired by the Buddhist Prayer flags which are found fluttering happily in the Himalayan regions of India and Nepal. They are inscribed with texts representing peace, compassion, strength and wisdom.

Saturday 16 November, 11am to 1.30pm : Eco-printing with leaves and flowers. In this workshop will used found leaves and flowers from the garden to make interesting prints.

Saturday 23 November, 11am to 1.30pm : Eco-Logic, Sonic jamming and Mono-printing with single-use plastics. In this workshop we will collectively create the Prayer flags by first indulging in sonic jamming with single-used plastics and carrying on to Mono-print them.

Sunday 8 December, 11am to 1.30pm : Eco-Dyeing with Indigo and Cochineal extract. In this workshop we will collectively create the Prayer flags by dyeing cotton fabric with eco dyes like Indigo and Cochineal extract to make Prayer Flags.

You are all invited to attend, co-create and be participate in this public art project , to be installed in January 2025, in Arbeit's North Garden, in Trowbridge Gardens, E9.

All workshops are for persons 18 years and over, with limited free to attend tickets. Due to popular demand, please do cancel your ticket if you cannot attend.
