Knotted Structures: craft-making workshop to create a collective work

Rachel Attfield hosted Knotted Structures as part of the ReRooted Residency Programme at Trowbridge Gardens.

This workshop was an invitation to take part in the collective act of making, using a few simple knots to create large-scale works made by participants. Simple craft techniques will be shared and used as the basis for participants to contribute to a growing woven structure by playing with color and a combination of knot patterns. These ideas and techniques inform Rachel's work with found plant materials where she uses their components to determine what is made. The repeated nature of this work offers what she describes as the 'movements in patterns.'
