Upcoming Rebel Business Courses Oct 24 - Feb 25

  • Google Calendar ICS

The Rebel School is back in Westminster to help you to get your own business up and running. With an alternative method, they don’t talk about loans, debt or business plans. Just straight-forward advice and support to get started.

It doesn’t matter if you want to start a craft business, sell your art or sell that food you’ve been cooking for years; this is the course for you.

Working with the council to support residents and small businesses across the City of Westminster, these courses are totally free to attend and fully-funded for you to take advantage of.

These short, intensive courses, in-person and online, will cover everything you need to know to get a business off the ground, including: starting for free, choosing an idea, sales & marketing, building websites, social media & finding customers and all the tax & accounting info you need to start safely.

It's Rebel’s mission to make give everyone the opportunity to get started and make changes in life so they can build the life they want and need. Starting a business might be the opportunity you didn’t know you needed!

Fashion as Catalyst: Making and Advocating for Social Change

Fashion as Catalyst: Making and Advocating for Social Change

At this symposium, we ask: how can we create safe spaces and facilitate participatory fashion practices that foster cultural sustainability and community resilience?

This event is part of the public engagement and cultural programme of the ‘Shifting Narratives’ exhibition delivered within the AHRC-funded project ‘Decolonising Fashion and Textiles’ led by Centre for Sustainable Fashion (CSF), London College of Fashion (LCF), University of the Arts London (UAL), with a wide range of partners. This participatory action research project explores the concepts of cultural sustainability and community resilience through the lived experiences of London-based refugees and asylum seekers. Throughout a reciprocal process of learning and making fashion and textiles, the project team and participants challenged dominant design practice and brought to the forefront the refugees’ shifting identities, cultural heritages, and collective visions for a more equitable and sustainable future.

You can gain insight into the lived experiences of London-based refugees and asylum seekers in relation to the themes of cultural sustainability and community resilience.
